Godmanchester Rovers pay the price for failings at both ends of the pitch

Manager Ollie Drake admitted Godmanchester Rovers paid for failings at both ends of the pitch when suffering an early FA Vase elimination.
The local club entered and exited at the second round of the national competition last Saturday when being beaten 5-2 by fellow Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division side Woodbridge Town.
Top-scorer James Hall and midfielder Micky Hyem fluffed golden chances for Rovers early on, but the Suffolk hosts were considerably more clinical as they breezed into a three-goal lead by the midway point of the first half.

Double-blow for Godmanchester Rovers as heavy defeat followed by departure of star turn

Seething manager Ollie Drake read Godmanchester Rovers the riot act after a Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division drubbing last Saturday.
Drake's men were thumped 5-0 at Stanway Rovers as they suffered a fifth defeat in just 11 league games this term.
It's a record which is already threatening to wreck their anticipated challenge for promotion.

High-fives all round as Godmanchester Rovers hit the goal trail to continue hot streak

It was a case of high-fives all round for Godmanchester Rovers last Saturday.
Ollie Drake's men reeled off their fifth consecutive Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division victory by blowing away Cambridgeshire rivals Ely City by a 5-1 scoreline at the David Wilson Homes Ground.
A brace from Tom Spark put Rovers in command and James Hall effectively sealed the points when adding a third goal five minutes before the break.

"If that's step four then we're good enough," says Godmanchester boss

Ollie Drake believes his Godmanhester Rovers side would have no problems playing at step four following their FA Cup clash with St Neots.
Goddy were knocked out 3-1 in Tuesday night’s preliminary round replay, despite a Jack Chandler strike, but were unfortunate not to have beaten the Southern One Central side in the original tie.

Action and reaction as St Neots beat Godmanchester in FA Cup replay

Marc Abbott praised the mentality of his young St Neots Town side after winning last night’s FA Cup replay against Godmanchester Rovers 3-1.
The Saints have had a mixed start to the season following relegation from the Southern Premier and were fortunate to come out of the original tie against an experienced Goddy side, albeit from a league below, with a second bite of the cherry.
