Social media spice ahead of a tasty semi-final showdown
Huntingdon Town boss Jimmy Brattan has challenged his players to silence a set of ‘noisy neighbours’ as they bid to reach the Hinchingbrooke Cup final for the second successive season.
That’s how Brattan described local rivals Godmanchester Rovers on Facebook ahead of the two clubs’ clash in a semi-final showdown at Jubilee Park tomorrow night (Wednesday, 7.45pm).

A half-time tongue lashing from manager Ollie Drake inspired Godmanchester Rovers to book a place in the Hinchingbrooke Cup final last night.
Following a drab and goalless first half, Goddy came to life after the break against neighbours Huntingdon Town, Jack Chandler tucking home a spot kick he had himself earnt.

It won't make up for the FA Vase, but Godmanchester are on a triple trophy trail
Goddy are in one cup final, another semi and a title race
It might not quite be the FA Vase, but Chris Hyem is determined to land some silverware with Godmanchester Rovers after helping them through to the final of the Hinchingbrooke Cup.
Goddy were left heartbroken last month when they reached the last 16 of the Vase, only to be kicked out after fielding an ineligible player in the previous round.
Hyem was the player in question, having fallen foul of a new FA rule which dictates any player who accumulates two bookings would sit out the next round.

FA VASE: SPORTING KHALSA STATEMENT
Today (Thursday) the Football Association ruled that Godmanchester Rovers had fielded an illegible player in their 1-0 fourth round victory against Sporting Khalsa 19 days ago. Chris Hyem, booked in two previous rounds, should have been suspended as per a new rule introduced at the start of the season.
The FA have, as a result, removed Godmanchester from the competition and reinstated Sporting Khalsa.
This decision is subject to an appeal. If there is no appeal, or the decision is upheld, Khalsa will travel to face Sholing FC on Saturday February 2.
Club Statement: FA Vase
Godmanchester Rovers attended the FA at Wembley earlier today to answer the charges relating to the previous round in the FA vase competition. The club legal adviser and a club officer attending in person.
Although the FA with sympathetic and acknowledged notification system errors relied upon by the club they have nevertheless disqualified club from further participation in the FA vase, which means sporting khalsa go through instead. The club are of course Deeply disappointed at the decision. it will consider an appeal with the written decision has been received.
