Scraping victory against rock-bottom opposition with a stoppage-time penalty might not usually be the cue for wild celebrations.
But it was the exact scenario which left Godmanchester Rovers boss Ollie Drake feeling ecstatic last Saturday.

Ross Munro coolly stepped up from the spot to earn a 5-4 victory at basement boys Gorleston and secure three precious Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division points for a patched-up Rovers side who were without seven regular players.

Hall came back to his hometown club for a third spell in the summer

When Jonny Hall was looking for a new club in the summer, it was a ‘no-brainer’ once the club he calls home was interested.

The local club entered and exited at the second round of the national competition last Saturday when being beaten 5-2 by fellow Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division side Woodbridge Town.

Top-scorer James Hall and midfielder Micky Hyem fluffed golden chances for Rovers early on, but the Suffolk hosts were considerably more clinical as they breezed into a three-goal lead by the midway point of the first half.

Seething manager Ollie Drake read Godmanchester Rovers the riot act after a Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division drubbing last Saturday.

It's a record which is already threatening to wreck their anticipated challenge for promotion.
