Godmanchesters Rovers Home Match

First Team Squad - 2019 - 2020

Ollie Drake – Head Coach

The gaffer is going into his third full season at The Farm, and after winning two cups last season the expectations will only be higher this year. Ollie has a strong idea about how football should be played and the commitment levels he wants from his players.

Steve Drake – Assistant

Mr Motivator. As passionate as anybody about Goddy, Stevo is constantly looking for ways in which he can support the progress of the club, on and off the field. Very popular in the dressing room, the place wouldn’t be the same without him.

Errol McGammon - Assistant

Errol stepped up to Ollie’s assistant last season and made an instant impact, combining his understanding of sports fitness with his understanding of the game. Errol has been around the non-league game for years and brings a wealth of knowledge to the coaching team.

Tom Sweeney – Coach

Joined Goddy having worked alongside the gaffer at various other clubs. Combines his work with the goalkeepers with opposition information and performance analysis. Still looking to complete his UEFA B licence, he has a coaching degree and a developing tactical knowledge about the game.

Kev Nixon – Kit Man

Kitman Kev is exactly the sort of person who makes a non-league club run. If there is a job that Killer hasn’t done we are yet to find it (and if we do he will no doubt have a go). A top bloke and someone you want fighting for you not against you!

Rich Cosbey

U18s manager who has become the link between the youngsters and the senior teams. Goddy man through and through, who was ever present during pre-season. Will be a useful addition to the coaching staff this season!

Paul France

Mr Performance Analysis. Another who has stepped up from the U18s and shown exactly why he brings another dimension to the first team coaching group. Exciting to have Paul on board for the season!

Niall Conroy (GK)

Returned to Goddy last summer after a few seasons in the higher leagues and immediately showed his quality. A season of high quality performances meant that he was one of the first players to be tied down for this season. Big personality in the dressing room.

Reece King

Winger-turned-full-back is another with a fantastic attitude who does everything which is asked of him. Arguably Goddy’s Mr Consistent, Reece has shown good quality in possession on top of his excellent defensive work.

Charlie Bowen

Club captain for the coming season and arguably the best Centre Back in the league. Bones is fully committed to everything he does and has shown his leadership qualities already. Despite being brilliant defensively, he might be best known for his rampaging runs out of defence.

Jake Burton

Came back into the first team fold during the second half of last season and showed that he had something to offer. His whole-hearted performances meant he was quickly trusted in pressure situations.

Tom Spark

Another who played in a variety of positions last season but will be aiming to make a central role his own for the coming season. Sparky has great quality in possession and an ability to glide past players at speed. Will be looking to add more goals and assists to his game.

Mike Hyem

Another who came back from the higher leagues to re-sign for Godmanchester 2 seasons ago. Captained the side last season and showed his experience with a number of important goals and assists. A key member of the Goddy squad, his experience will be vital in helping develop the younger players in the squad this season.

Jack Chandler

Mr Unproven from 2 seasons ago is the biggest success story having stepped up from Hardwick with the gaffer. Over 50 goals from out-wide is an outstanding return and we are delighted that Bingy is returning for a 3rd season.

Austen Diaper

Last season’s Manager’s Player of the Season will want to show the same form again this time around. Incredibly versatile and quality wherever he plays, Austin has exactly the attitude that managers and teammates love.

Ross Munro

Quality in possession, deadly from free kicks and sees things which others don’t, Ross took the chance in pre-season to ensure that he was a permanent fixture in the starting line-up once the season started. Looks to be fitter than we have ever seen him and this could just be his season.

Jonathon Hall

No-nonsense defender re-signed at Goddy after a spell away. Equally adept at left back or in the middle Jonny will quickly show exactly why the gaffer was desperate to get him back at the club.

James Hall

Another who has re-signed for Goddy for this season. Strong, good in the air and with a great left foot, Jimmy is equally adept up front or on the wing. Will be a complete handful to all defenders who come up against him this season.

Arron MkCay

Re-joins after 6 months away from Goddy due to other commitments. Azza can either play at centre back or up front and will be used in both positions during the season. Combines height, speed and ability on the ball which will be a high asset for Goddy.

Cav King

Stepped up from Brampton last season and instantly showed exactly why he should be playing at this level by making one centre back spot his own. Fantastic in the air and improving rapidly with the ball at his feet, Cav is quickly becoming one of Goddy’s most important players.

Harrison Radwell

Stepped up from the u18s at the end of last season, and did enough to be invited in for pre-season. Showed the quality which we knew he had and will be an asset due to his strength and speed. Will be another exciting prospect on either wing for Goddy.

Harry McGreggor

Another new signing for this season, who instantly made an impression during pre-season with some moments of real quality. Once Harry has settled in he could quite easily make the No.10 shirt his own. One to watch.

Tom Lloyd

Stepped up from the reserves at times last season and took a full part in pre-season this year. Showed quality in possession and an improving understanding of his responsibilities without the ball.

Reece White

Another signed for this season who can play anywhere across the back 4. Showed a great attitude during preseason, takes responsibility defensively and comfortable in possession.

Chris Hyem

Mr Godmanchester has been around the club for about as long as anyone can remember, who has done just about everything to get the club to where it is today. When fully fit Chris will be an integral part of the team, with a drive and passion which carries others around him. Can usually be heard shouting at his brother.

Ellis Ogle

Stepped up from Brampton during pre-season and his combination of speed and strength instantly made him an exciting signing. He could well be quicker running with the ball than without, which makes Ellis an incredibly exciting prospect. We can’t wait to see how he goes at this level.
