Every season at the annual presentation evening the Chairmans Young Player of the Year is presented to an individual, usually under the age of 18, who has shown exceptional promise and delivered consistently oustanding performances.
This year the award was presented to a player who began the season stepping up from youth football into the reserve team set up where he quickly established himself as an energetic and tenacious full/wing back and before long was one of the first names on the team sheet.
These consistent displays came to the eye of the new first team management and he was invited to train with the first team to see whether he could make the next step up and before long he was given the opportunity which he grasped with both hands. Not being phased playing against older and more experienced players he soon became a regular in the 1st team squad and finished the season strongly.
