The Board of Directors today accepted the resignation of Ada Cambridge as First Team Manager.

Cambridge said: “The results we’ve had this season aren’t what a club like Godmanchester Rovers should be picking up. “It has been beating me up inside and resigning just felt like the right thing to do. Maybe it is time for a different face and voice to come in.

“When I took the job, I was coming into a club which had finished second in the previous two seasons and wanted to challenge for promotion. “But every player from last season’s squad eventually left and it meant I had to start all over again and build a completely new group.

“We have some good lads and strong characters at the club, but they just need one or two things to go right for them. I’m sure they will keep improving and finish in mid-table.

“I wish everyone at the club all the best for the future and apologise that things haven’t worked out as well as I hoped they would. “Godmanchester Rovers is a fantastic club and I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to manage there.”
