“Good from far, far from good” by Matty Haniver

With 3 points very much the minimum target for today , we welcomed already relegated Whitton, who had a very youthful look about them, to the David Wilson Homes ground.

After a succession of off target efforts following corners we made the breakthrough on 14 minutes when LUKE BROWN saw his clever lob punched over the bar by a despairing right fist of a recovering defender. With no choice but a red and penalty, Luke stepped up to fire home from the spot.

Soon after Shinn flashed a cross come shot which was sliced in by a defender for 2-0. Chances came and went but all in all it was very unremarkable and frustrating with bad decision and sloppy play a regular occurrence

The second half brought more of the same. JOHNNY HALL smashed home the third after a Groves knock down and Shinn rattled the bar whilst at the other end Niall made his only save late on diverting a 1v1 wide to preserve our clean sheet.

With the standards so very high, we, as a squad fell below them today. I know ,however, the group will quickly correct this.
